Surpasshosting 还不错

Surpasshosting 提供一美元租用一年虚拟主机的优惠，2 月 28 号截止，更详细的介绍请看 putu 的文章。

既然不管是什么 plan 全都可以一美元使用一年，我就也没客气，选择了 Deluxe Plan，有 400GB 空间和 4000GB 带宽，应该还不错。~~但 Shell 是没有的，虽然非常不方便，但考虑到一年才 1 块钱，也没法让我说什么了。~~更新：只是 Power Plan 没有 Shell (需要另加一次性费用 20 美刀)，我用的这个 Deluxe Plan 是有 Shell 的。

我用 Paypal 支付了一美元，马上就拿到了账户。使用了一天多，说说我的感想。

速度似乎比 Dreamhost 快那么一点，表现为网页打开果决，没有太多拖泥带水，希望不是心理作用。
管理起来没有 Dreamhost 方便，cPanel 比 DH 管理起来傻瓜化一些，但似乎不够灵活，域名管理和数据库管理都是如此。也或者是我还不太会用，或是不太习惯用。
不知道是不是 cPanel 的管理都是这样： FTP 的登陆名是 username_domainame 这种格式，然后把网页放在 www 目录下以得到外部访问。这个没有 DH 来的简洁，DH 下只需用你的用户名登陆，网页直接放在对应的与域名一致的目录下，不需要因为要管理多个域名打开多个 FTP 连接。当然，这也可能是使用习惯的问题，我不是在抱怨。
服务很好，比 Dreamhost 来的让人舒心放心，我发过两封 E-mail 给客服，对方总是能很快回复，态度非常好，不仅告诉我问题的原因的解决方案，而且不用我自己动手，帮我解决了。相比之下，Dreamhost 的客服就算回复，也得起码十几个小时之后，我最近的一封信，记不清多久了，至今未回。
Surpasshosting 的问题是文档不够丰富，也许这个公司是 2002 年才成立的吧，还比较年轻。它不像 Dreamhost 那样有一个详尽的 wiki 系统，并且还有论坛和在线聊天作为补充。你要想在 Surpasshosting 上找一个帮助信息，找不到太多的相关资料。必须得去写信问客服，again, 又要去跟客服打交道，虽然他们的客服很 nice…

我先在 Surpasshosting 上试试我的另一个测试站，如果合适，我把这个 Blog 搬上去运行一段时间，比较一下放在 Dreamhost 和 Surpasshosting 上哪个好，以便等我这个 Dreamhost 账户到期后（还有三个多月）决定是留还是走。

更新 [2/26/2007]: surpasshosting 的 shell access 连接端口不是默认的 22 而是 1291，大家用的时候注意。另外 wget 命令被禁止使用 (permission denied)，可以用 curl 命令代替。

400G的plan？实际空间大小呢？一年后是自动续费还是其他的方式？

实际空间大小我看到的是 10G，自动续费，如果想取消，提前五个工作日填表取消就行了。

另外除了max的以外其他都有5到30个不等的绑定域名限制

实际大小和各个plan所标的disk space的大小之间是什么关系？是不是说个人使用的空间远达不到所写的disk space？还是这些所标出的disk space指的是这台服务器给所有共享使用者的总空间？我不是很明白它们之间的关系。

dominoes, 这就是我说的 surpass 文档不全的问题，我根本找不到相关的说明，我还有很多的问题在网站上找不到解释，现在自己还有 dreamhost 的空间，也就懒得去问 support 了，看在只是一块钱的份上，我不计较那么多了。

我現在用的也是DH的，這幾天老是當機，國外的朋友推薦過Surpasshosting
現在這麽便宜也想試試看了，不過我沒有信用卡阿，之前的DH是別人代購的
不知道這位大哥能否幫忙？

David, Shell access 需要去信让客服帮忙开通，告诉他你想开通的账号就行了。

zhiqiang, 开始显示的是 0 元，但你付款的时候就是一元了。

Michael,你当时开通shell的时候，有没要你填一个表。要提供身份证明，姓名地址什么的，然后传真或者扫描上传过去。

Michael,我写信让他们开通shell，结果给我回了这个，还是没开通，能说一下你的信是怎么写的吗？

3Q, 你是不是买的是 power plan 啊？从信中看 surpasshosting 要你交 20 块钱才能开通。我记得 shared plan 中只有 power plan 才需要钱，其余的都是免费的，直接写信要求开通就可以了。

是Deluxe Plan，原价100刀，空间为400g，看了一下他们给的那个pdf联结，居然要我签那个文件，还得贴上身份证，再传给他们，真麻烦。
我觉得，要不就是我的paypal没认证的缘故，要不就是我给他们的信没说明白，英文太烂，看还能凑合，写就完蛋了，嘿嘿。
下面是我要求他们开通shell的原话，能帮忙看一下，是不是词不达意啊。
